HTML Character Encoding
What is Character Encoding?
Character encoding is a method of converting bytes into characters.
Basically, all characters are stored in computers memory using a special code (0's and 1's). A character encoding provides a key to unlock the special code.
A character encoding is a set of mappings between the bytes in the computer and the characters in the character set (charset).
How to Declare Character Encoding?
Use <meta> to tell the web browser which character-encoding method to use for the page.
The default character encoding for HTML5 is UTF-8.
Note: Unless you have a legitimate reason for doing otherwise, stick with UTF-8 character encoding.
